I don’t compare my insides to someone else’s outsides. Because… Well first of all we really don’t know what’s really going on for someone else, we only see what they allow us to see. They may be struggling with situations and challenges that we would never want to have in our lives. And secondly, we need to embrace who we are. Our unique situations are meant for us, we have chosen them all for the lessons we need to learn. If we are not happy with what’s going on in our lives, we should be looking inward, not outward. All of our answers are within. Some questions I usually ask myself are: for what purpose am I going through this, what’s the lesson for me, or even what in me or my attitude has attracted this? These questions usually lead me to answers that help me to deal with the situation I am going through. I’ve learned that if I don’t change me in the situation, that the same scenario usually comes back, only with different people, places or things involved. What I’ve learned is that I need to do my work and not wish it away, dreaming that I could have someone’s else’s life. Theirs really might be more challenging than mine, and they aren’t the lessons I need to learn to move to who I am truly meant to be.
